The Future…

I haven’t blogged in over TWO months now! But never fear, me and my randomness have returned. I’m currently in the process of trying to decide what city I want to build my life in after graduation. (Which happens to be May 6th — whoop!) Here are the five cities i’m trying to decide amongst:

Atlanta

Atlanta

Austin

Austin

Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, La

Dallas

Dallas, TX

Houston

Houston, TX

I don’t think i’ve ever felt so indecisive in my life! I know that where I go doesn’t have to be permanent, but i’m terrified of making the wrong decision and ending up unhappy. :( Ahhhhh — life. :)

The Don’t Quit Poem

A few weeks ago, my uncle sent me a check, as he does from time to time, just to help me out, but this time, he included a poem he found. I found it particularly inspirational because I recently started to feel like quitting grad school and moving back home, because I really missed my fam and I lost focus of why I originally moved out here. Anyways, I thought I’d share the poem — someone may need a little encouragement at the moment!
—————————————————————
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow—
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out—
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit—
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Man distorts reality to suit inner needs and then makes his distorted picture of reality the premise of his actions
Freud, perhaps?

Daydreaming while you’re reading, then having to re-read what you just read.

My random, embarrassing moment!

So let me tell y’all bout this embarrassing moment I had one time. So I was at a new job, and the bathroom locations are confusing. I walked in what I thought was the women’s restroom, and as soon as I burst through the door, I see somebody big and husky, with a low caesar haircut, and a mean face, and I go “oh my god, I’m so sorry!” and I run back out. So I look at the door after it closes, and it says WOMEN. so I’m like, wtf?! So I go back in, and the person looks at me and says, “it’s okay, that isn’t the first time that happened. You’re in the right bathroom.” it.was.a.woman. But she looked exactly like a man! So my face turns red and I start apologizing so hard and she laughs. She assures me that she’s not offended, and leaves the bathroom. I couldn’t look that woman in the face anymore after that lol. I felt soooo bad!!!
